New Urban Unveiled Pics

November 26, 2008

Rented Elegance did such an amazing job helping us create the vision of “New Hollywood Glamour” for the fall 2008 Urban Unveiled at Benaroya Hall.  We just received some images they took before the show started and wanted to share some of them with you.

We had layer upon layer of red silk draping at the entrance, and over 50 feet of red carpet to set the tone at the entrance.

Multiple soft seating areas were set up to help make the large space feel intimate and encourage the loungy vibe.

As the sun went down and it was time for guest arrival, the darkened sky and use of lots of candles and crystals added to the sultry look of the event.

Rented Elegance created a gorgeous bridal bouquet inspired by the look of the event.

And the stage is set.  Dramatic red drapes and beautiful “fountain stands” that Rented Elegance had their welder create based on a picture I had seen in a wedding magazine.  The stands have multiple arms and strands of strung orchids, crystals, and candles created the backdrop for Luly Yang’s amazing fashion show that took place in Taper Auditorium, home of the Seattle Symphony (above the draping, you can see the incredible organ pipes).  We have also used the stage for weddings & the grand lobby for receptions.  It is one of the most fabulous places to have a wedding in Seattle.  Pictures from the actual fashion show will be coming shortly.

Style Me Pretty styles us flattered!

About a month ago Style Me Pretty featured us on their front page and we couldn’t have been more touched by their comments.  They noted, “Jesse and Travis over at True Colors Events are true geniuses! They are just so enthusiastic and fun to work with!  Even better is that they really reflect the personality of the couple in the event. Not to mention, their planning style is totally stress free for the bride! I love that! True Colors Events just won Seattle Bride Magazine’s Best Planners and Best ”Day-Of Coordinators” for 2008! Stress-free, beautiful reflections of bride and groom, I’m loving it!  Check out True Colors Blog for some real eye candy!”  Talk about being tickled!  Coming from such an esteemed resource we were just thrilled.

Style Me Pretty is known as the ultimate wedding blog, and we couldn’t agree more. It offers a plethora of resources within one site. There are real weddings, inspirations for color palettes, ideas for every category from cake to gowns, DIY projects, and more. Style Me Pretty also has a Little Black Book in which they have a collection of their preferred vendors in each state. Per their description “Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book is a highly edited collection of wedding service providers – from mom and pop boutiques to A-Listers. Personally recommended by our closest girlfriends, industry insiders and Style Me Pretty readers, there are three hand-picked listings per category. Brace yourself, though…it’s that good!”

We have been one of the three event planners in Washington State they have showcased for some time now, and it has been a great honor.  Thanks for the shout out Style Me Pretty!

Happy Anniversary Catherine & Dennis

November 17, 2008

It’s hard to believe how fast time flies.  Last year we had the pleasure of working with a fabulous couple, Catherine & Dennis. It was their one year anniversary yesterday so we thought we would post some pictures from their special day.

Catherine found her beautiful dress at the Bridal Garden in Kirland.  The inspiring floral in shades of red was created by Lea of Florarama Modern Design.

The ring bearer held a birds nest in lieu of a pillow and wore a tie and converse in the color of the day, red!

The ceremony at Sacred Heart Chapel at the Villa Academy glowed in candlelight.

The reception was held at the Palace Ballroom, with exclusive catering by Tom Douglas.  The night kicked off with a fondue course served at the tables.

In addition to the incredible floral, the look of the space was completed with custom linens from Aria Style and Choice linens.  We also washed the room with a warm glow with specialty lighting from Hollywood Lighting.

We worked closely with the couple and Jen of Jen of Jen’s Desserts to design a chocolate ganache covered cake that perfectly accented the evening, and tasted delicious as well of course.

The couple shares their first dance to Otis Redding’s “These arms of mine.”  Music entertainment was provided by DJ Leslie of Seattle Parties.  To ensure the dance floor remained packed and comfortable, flip flops were provided so that people could really kick off their heals!

All of the pictures (sans the ones that came out of the photo booth above, a surprise from Catherine to Dennis) are compliments of the fun, easy going, and talented Ron Henry of Ron Henry Photography.

The Haunted Costume Ball was a Fabulous Fright Fest

November 14, 2008

With a HUGE departure from weddings, on Friday October 31st, we co-sponsored & helped coordinate a haunted costume ball with Pravda Studios and Rented Elegance at Pravda with a deadly theme.  We had incredible savory and sweet treats provided by City Catering Company, Gourmondo, Lisa Dupar Catering and Ravishing RadishChoice Linens, Pedersen’s Rentals, and Totally Tabletops also helped deck out our goulishly themed event.  Austin Beaver of NiteLite Entertainment acted as the DJ and had the ghosts and goblins dancing all night long.  The event lived up to all of it’s buzz and hype, so watch out for 2009!  (Seriously, watch out…we know who you are and we are gonna scare you!)

As it was a ball for the deary departed, Travis and I went as dressy demons to oversee the guests from the afterlife.

One of the surprises of the night was a spooky dance troop performing a choreographed number to the classic Thriller.
