Danielle & Mrinabh Preview

July 23, 2009

dm12

Fiery & beautiful Danielle and dapper man-of-few-words Mrinabh are a wonderful couple who really show the balance of yin and yang.  Being a bit of a wild one myself, I definitely appreciate the structure and order Travis has brought to my life for 10 years now!

It would be impossible to express how much fun we had working with this couple who wanted to have a special and intimate wedding and reception for under 40 guests.  The event was held at Novelty Hill Winery, and we were so taken by the incredible modern space!  The beauty of the venue was matched by their amazing service and incredible food!  We are so excited that they are going to be a part of Urban Unveiled, not only as a vendor, but also a wine sponsor, so make sure to come to the event thirsty!

It was also our first time working with Tammi of TLB Events, and she worked magic with her floral designs.  We worked with our partners at PNTA to design lighting that really set the tone for the event in the color of the night, orange!  We know that Danielle & Mrinabh are lucky in love…we sure hope that luck translated to the slots during their Las Vegas honeymoon!  As always, Sarah and Chris of Sarah Rhoads Photo did an amazing job and really captured the true essence of our couple on film.  Make sure to check back for more shots from their big day in the near future.

Shane & Adam Preview

July 21, 2009

sa8

Travis and I always cry at weddings,  but we have to say there seemed to be extra tears of joy at this touching event.  Shane & Adam are an amazing and quirky couple who wanted to have a roller coaster themed wedding!  We based their color palette of lilac, seafoam, and pink on a vintage postcard of an old roller coaster.  Without getting too literal, there were lots of swirl patterns in the various design elements, similar to the tracks of a roller coaster.

We have to give a big shout out to Sheryl of Paper Moxie who did an incredible job working with us to design all of the paper products including the save-the-dates, invitations, escort cards, table cards, etc.  The event was held at the beautiful Golf Club at Newcastle.  We had the pleasure of working with Sarah & Chris Rhoads of Sarah Rhoads Photo, who always do an amazing job, and have already given us some images to preview.  You can also click here to see their engagement photos at Enchanted Village we previously posted (and yes, there are roller coaster shots!)

B&E Color Trends 2009

Banquet & Event is an incredible wedding planning resource.  Not only does it have a great online presence, but they also produce an annual book that is available at various retailers.  In the Savvy Wedding Style section of their website, they recently did a showcase on hot color trends for weddings in 2009.  One of their hot color trends is chartreuse & royal blue, and they featured photos from two of our events!  Included is a shot from the Seattle Wedding Show in 2008 (click here for additional pictures) and another is from Banquet & Event’s Fall Bridal Spectacular in 2007 (click here for additional pictures).  Thanks for including us B&E!

Vennessa & John Engagement Pics

July 19, 2009

Travis and I just returned from the Seattle Yacht Club where one of our fabulous couples, Vennessa & John, had a send off by boat.  They left the docks of the yacht club under the dark starry sky to cross the inky waters of Lake Washington and spend the night at the picturesque Woodmark Hotel.  Talk about a way to make an exit!

They are a fun and vivacious couple, and their wedding this evening was a perfect testament to their infectious personalities.  The lovely Heather with One Love Photo captured the day (and we even caught her shedding a tear during the ceremony…of course we guilty of crying as well), and we can’t wait to see their wedding day pictures.  In the meantime, here are a few of the shots Heather captured during their recent engagement photo session.  You can see even more shots on Heather’s blog, and make sure to check back here for their wedding pics and more details about their big day.

Congratulations Vennessa & John!

Bao & Marlin Preview

July 15, 2009

Bao & Marlin were married less than 2 weeks ago on the 4th of July, but the talented team at Azzura Photography already has some of their images posted on their blog.  We had an incredible time working with this fabulous and fun couple, and as evident in these pictures, the wedding day was full of laughter and joy.

The couple wed at Blessed Sacrament Church and had their reception at the beautiful Woodmark Hotel.  An incredible pink sunset washed across the night sky, and once it was dark the guests watched fireworks light up the night while their DJ Austin Bever played fun songs like “American Boy” by Estelle and “American Woman” by Lenny Kravitz.

True Colors Events Featured in Seattle Bride Magazine

We were so excited when the Editor-in-Chief of Seattle Bride Magazine contacted us about contributing to the Unveiled section of their magazine for the Fall/Winter 2009 issue.  We were asked to create a look for a wedding using a fresh fall color palette.  Always up for a challenge, we decided to pair yellow, orange, gold & bronze together in unconventional ways.  The results with this sunny and sophistocated palette definitely make us smile.  The use of closely grouped polka dots add a touch of whimsy, cohesion, and structure to the look.  Of course none of this would have been possible without the assistance of the wonderful vendors we partnered with to make this vision come to life.  Janet of izzy girl created the custom invitations, escort cards, and table card that really set the tone for the look.  The beautiful bouquet of roses, orchids, calla lilies, and protea was created by the wonderful floral team over at Rented Elegance.  Ashley with Luly Yang helped us pick out the perfect attire items (including the shoe, choker, ties, and belt photographed) to compliment the look.  Our friends at Pedersen’s Rentals and Totally Tabletops supplied us with the items to outfit the colorful place setting.  Tom Douglas Catering mixed a grapefruit margarita with an orange twist as the delicious signature cocktail.  To top it all of, Judy of Tallant House designed an architectural feat of a cake in spiced blood orange and caramel mousse, blood orange curd and comfit, crispy almond dacquoise and cinnamon genoise.  Make sure to check out the article in the new issue of Seattle Bride Magazine that should be on newsstands now.
