Jen + Jon

Jen + Jon are simply two of the most fun-loving people I think we will ever meet.  During our initial consultation, Jen told me that her favorite color was rainbow, and if she had to pick whether she preferred feathers or crystals she might burst…so I knew it was going to be a lot of blast working with them!  They definitely wanted to have a wedding  that spoke 100% to their unique style and sensibilities.  It was our true pleasure to help these two create the party of their dreams for their friends and family.

From the start Jen knew she wanted a wedding in cool tones of teal various shades of purple, and chartreuse with burlesque inspiration.  There were to be crows, touches of black and white…and of course, feathers & crystals! We knew from the start it was going to be exciting and different.

The bride’s gorgeous dress, that was detachable just above the knee to reveal a fun party dress for the reception, was by the extraordinary Luly Yang.  We found the groom’s khaki suit at Nordstrom.  The groom also changed his tie during the reception as a way to switch things up himself.  The ladies got ready at the swanky W Seattle while they were pampered with on-site hair and makeup services by Salon Maison.

Taking a twist on tradition, the couple had adults play the role of ring bearer (with a mini top hat) and flower girl (with black fairy wings, and instructions to throw the rose petals at the guests as she walked down the aisle!).

The black and white decorated ceremony was held at Court in the Square in Pioneer Square.  We obtained a custom black and white aisle runner with crows on it, and we even hung paper crows and crystals from the water feature at the venue.

Following the ceremony guests were off to the Palace Ballroom where an incredible experience of the senses awaited.  Being involved in the culinary industry, cuisine was extremely important to Jen, and an impressive feast was developed  that offered course after course of indulgent options.  Upon entry, the cocktail hour took place in the lobby, where guests were greeted by Shanghai Pearl, their very own personal mermaid for the evening, who sat aside the seafood raw bar, and took pictures with the spectators.

Next there was a surprise performance by one of the couples favorite burlesque performers, Fuchsia Foxx!

After being tantalized and appetized, the guests entered the ballroom we completely transformed with the help of our amazing partners.  Rented Elegance & Design created the one-of-a-kind floral and decor, that included a 30-ft zebra striped couch for the head table, feather boas and crystals hanging from the chandeliers, 3 unique centerpiece designs, and more.  Trendy Event Rentals supplied the luscious linens and sophisticated overlays, as well as the dramatic lighting.  Bickner’s Dance Floor brought a specialty black and white checkered dance floor.  All of the paper products were care of the creative forces at Paper Moxie.  Where there was paper, there were crows, crystals, and/or feathers.  It all came together in one spectacular spectacle that the bride and groom called home for the evening and absolutely fell in love with!

Once dinner was underway, there was another surprise in-store…a performance from aereolistas who defied gravity with their amazing feats!

The delicious cake, topped with bride & groom crows, and detailed with delicate sugar crystal balls, was the creation of Decadence Custom Cakes.  Guests partied late into the evening as expert DJ Chris Graves of YourSong DJ kept the crowd entertained.

Not only did talented photographer Jenny Jimenez take all of the pictures above, but she also supplied a backdrop and props for a modern day photo booth that this crowd had SO much fun with!

OMG! What a totally fun wedding, and what a kick to plan. LOVE the ring bearer!!! Looking at all of these photos created an experience where you could feel what it was like to be there. Felt like an evening at Teatro Zinzanni! Also loved that you used a lot of vendors who I’ve never heard of in the Seattle market which means you’re leaving no stone unturned. Congratulations to True Colors Events. You’re performing magic for your clients. Good on ya!!
