little u – holiday edition 2010

December 20, 2010

During the holidays it seems fitting to reflect, as well as look forward.  Last year we decided to start a new holiday tradition, and do an annual “little u – holiday edition”  blog post dedicated to the showcasing the kids and pets of our couples, past and present.  It’s a fun way for us to keep up to date with our couples, and see what is going on with their lives after the “I Do’s.”

Some of these mini stars have made previous appearances in little u blog posts, we have families who are debuting child number two; we have couples whose families are complete with their four-legged friends, and others with kids on the way. We look forward to continuing to watch this annual tradition grow with the little ones who are a part of it.

They say you should never share the stage with kids and pets because they will inevitably steal the limelight.  Take a look at these scene-stealers in our second annual little u – holiday edition!

Happy Holidays from Natalie + Darby and their one year old cutie, Ella. I wonder what she’s asking Santa to bring?

Born to Liz + Nat on October 16, 2010, Ethan Quinn just couldn’t stay awake for his photo shoot!

Harper is perfectly pretty in pink with mom and dad, Catherine + Dennis.

Worn out from a day of hula-hooping, Anika + David’s children, Florence (3) and baby David William (6 months) pose for the camera.

Welcome to the world!  Wakara + Mike’s beautiful baby girl was born on November 5th, named Addison Olivia.

Shane + Adam’s gorgeous baby girl, Charlotte is ready for her close-up.

Hayley + Juston’s chihuahua, Missy, is sporting the latest in canine outerwear.

Joni + Sean’s sweet puppy Barkley is ready for the holidays in his snowman bandana.

Mariya + Brian’s little angel, Ye Jin is 8 months old. Is that her first tooth I spy?

Another November arrival is Elaine + Brian’s new addition, Ellie, born November 1, 2010.

Stacey + Brett’s daughter, Riley, is very excited for her hot cocoa and the holidays.

Ericka + Jon’s daughter, Abigail, strikes a pose on her winter walk.

Sandy + Josh’s little boy, Benjamin, is too cute for words in his knit monkey hat!

Sara + Rick’s dog, Riley, was their very special guest on the big day.

Alison & Jack’s first born, Stella (below right), who was featured last year on the little u – holiday edition 2009, is pictured here with her new baby sister, Abigail, born on April 16, 2010.

Davina + Dallas’s boy, Izak, has a twinkle in his eye with a touch of mischief.

Look for this little secret on next year’s little u – holiday edition.  Congratulations to Shaharzad & Bryce who are expecting their second child!

And of course we had to to put of picture of our little one Buster.  This is him dreaming about being a ring bearer someday.

Happy Holidays.  Thank you to everyone who has helped Travis and me live our dreams.  It is such an honor and blessing to be a wedding planner.  We are so grateful to the couples who have allowed us to help them along their path.

We hope that everyone can live their passion.  May 2011 bring you all the joy and happiness in the world!

little u – holiday edition 2009

December 16, 2009

Travis and I are truly blessed, we get to live our dreams. Our careers are our passion. On any given weekend you can find us helping couples say their “I do’s.” Throughout the process we get to know our couples very well, and we are honored to be a part of such a significant time in their lives. But the wedding day really is just the beginning!

Here at True Colors Events HQ we have decided to start a new holiday tradition, an annual “little u in review” if you will. This time of year it seems fitting to reflect, as well as look forward, so we’re dedicating this blog post to showcasing the kids & pets of our previous couples. Some of them came with ready-made families, a few kids have shown up exactly 9 months after the honeymoon; we have couples whose families are complete with their four-legged friends, and others with kids on the way. We look forward to watching this annual tradition grow with the little ones who are a part of it.

As my grandma once said, “Anything little is cute” and with that in mind, we bring you our first annual little u – holiday edition.

This newborn with the curious tongue is Harper, son of Catherine & Dennis.

Riley, daughter of Stacey & Brett, is every inch the sprouting sweet flower in this photo.

Here is Katherine & Aron’s 4-legged baby Tucker.  Check back shortly when we post their wedding photos and see the grooms cake that was a full size replica of their bulldog.

Here is Alison & Jack’s curly haired cutie Stella.  (With all that sweetness Alison & Jack couldn’t stop at one…they recently let us know they have another baby girl on the way!)

Speaking of on-the-way, Natalie & Darby may be ringing in the New Year with a bundle of joy.  Here is a great pregnancy shot of our former client and model.

Anika & David’s blond angel Florence is just too cute for words.  Supermodel rocket scientist in the making!

And here we have another adorable Stella (one of our honeymoon babies), daughter of Heide & Gerardo.  It’s ok if you have the impulse to try and reach through the computer screen to pinch her cheeks.

Zinedine isn’t quite a honeymoon baby (January wedding, November birth), but Shaharzad & Bryce were definitely ready to start a family.  Zinedine was recently featured on the blog with a peaceful shot.  Here’s one where he’s a little more expressive being weighed for the first time.  (I’m not always happy when I look at the scale either.)

Abigail is growing up so fast!  Here is Ericka & Jon’s fair-haired beauty looking pretty in pink at the pumpkin patch earlier this year.

Here is the first family photo of Catherine & Darin with sweet newborn Josephine & bespectacled Cameron.

And of course the entry would not be complete without including our little nugget Buster.  (Actually he wouldn’t allow it…we all know about his diva size fits.)  Well, he thinks just because Giselle is on maternity leave he can throw around extra attitude on set.  He wasn’t feeling the holiday themed costume I pulled for his photo shoot and refused to smile with his eyes.

I knew I had to resort to drastic measures, so I informed him the leisure wear he seemed so critical of was actually Versace 2011, and unless he wanted Donatella to give him a piece of her mind he better shape up.  After that we got the perfect shot.

Thanks to all of our couples who participated in the first annual little u – holiday edition.

We wish everyone a truly festive holiday season and happy new year!

Get Hitched Give Hope – Guest Blogging About Mens Fashion

October 22, 2009

Get Hitched Give Hope is an amazing bridal giving event scheduled to take place for the second time at the Arctic Club Hotel on the evening of October 29th.  Not only is it a fun wedding event, but it is also a charity fundraiser for breast cancer patients and their families.

Today we are featured on the Get Hitched Give Hope Blog as guest bloggers talking about mens fashion, because guys should definitely come to the event dressed to impress.  The lovely wedding photographer and Get Hitched Give Hope Socialite Barbie Hull came to our home this week and captured some shots as we played dress up getting ready for the big night on the town next Thursday.  To read the article and see the rest of the photos, check out the link HERE.

Of course anyone who is familiar with our dog Buster understands he thinks he is the supermodel of Chihuahua’s, and would not stand for not being included in the shots.  This is his, “Does this collar make me look fat?” face.  He wanted me to remind everyone that they can see more pictures of him on our blog from a previous post HERE.

Happy Holidays from True Colors Events

December 19, 2008

As the song goes, “baby its cold outside!” Winter is still a couple of days away, but the snow is here. We recently met with Tracy of Waterways Cruises & Events, who gave us this adorable forest green corduroy coat to keep our dog Buster warm. Upon receiving the gift, Buster immediately insisted on a photo shoot so he could show off his new fashion statement. Being the supermodel diva-dog that he is, Buster also scolded us for not focusing the blog more on him and insisted that we post the photo above. (We advised him that we would renegotiate his contract in 2009.)

Supermodel antics aside (WWTD – What Would Tyra Do?), all of us at True Colors Events, Buster included, would like to wish you a wonderful holiday season and happy New Year.

Dogzilla!

June 17, 2008

Stephanie Cristalli is a fabulous Seattle area wedding photographer who also has the distinction of winning Best Wedding Photographer in the Best Of edition of Seattle Bride Magazine in 2006 and 2007. We have had the pleasure of working with this talented and easy going photographer on many occasions, and we are always delighted with the images she produces. Stephanie has the ability to take pictures that capture the raw emotion of an event in a way that is stylish and artful but appears effortless.

She always does a great job of capturing the beauty of our brides and grooms, but recently she took on a different kind of subject…our five pound dog, Buster. While our little guy is not the Naomi Campbell of the Chihuahua world, he’s not the easiest supermodel to work with either. Stephanie handled his diva tendencies with the grace and skill of a true professional, and we (Buster included) couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

buster-v-day.jpg

Buster, True Colors Events official mascot, wants to wish every one a very happy Valentines Day. He also wants to let everyone know he is upset that he is not more prominently profiled on the True Colors Events blog. We have tried explaining that we want to maintain a certain level of style and sophistication in our blog…but each time he just gives us that uncomfortable stare down. As a peace offering we agreed to give him this holiday photo shoot and post a picture. (He contends that he is the first Chihuahua supermodel, and its just no use arguing with him.) Let me tell you, he can be a bigger diva than an unhappy Naomi Campbell in a cell phone store with three assistants!

First entry!

January 11, 2008

Travis and I are very excited to be starting a blog for True Colors Events. This allows us a new way to chat about wonderful wedding ideas, new trends, great companies and amazing people in the industry. Last weekend we participated in the Seattle Wedding Show and it was quite the adventure. It is the biggest wedding show in the NW with over 7000 guests who attended over Saturday and Sunday. We were scheduled to load in on Thursday and that day we completely redesigned our booth space! With last minute assistance and beautiful linens from Pedersen’s Rentals www.pedersens.com, and gorgeous flowers from Christiane of Flora Nova www.floranovadesign.com/ we were able to create a booth we were both extremely proud of. Ken and Tania of Azzura Photography www.azzuraphotography.com were across from us, and took pictures of our booth, so we will add them to the blog when we receive them. We also have to thank Bart and Mike of Cakes by Creme de la Creme www.cakesbycremedelacreme.com who were also nearby for all of the delicious cake samples. That sugar really kept us going!

By the way, our Chihuahua Buster wanted to make sure everyone is aware he is the “official mascot” of True Colors Events and that it is a glaring error he is not prominantly featured in our website (he has quite the ego). We tried to explain to Buster that it is a wedding site, not a dog site. But he’s a tough negotiator, he just cocked his head and stared us down. As a compromise we agreed to put a picture of him up on the blog, so here it is:buster.jpg

Happy New Year,

Jesse & Travis
