Get Hitched Give Hope – Guest Blogging About Mens Fashion

October 22, 2009

header_01091021_0040TrueColors

Get Hitched Give Hope is an amazing bridal giving event scheduled to take place for the second time at the Arctic Club Hotel on the evening of October 29th.  Not only is it a fun wedding event, but it is also a charity fundraiser for breast cancer patients and their families.

Today we are featured on the Get Hitched Give Hope Blog as guest bloggers talking about mens fashion, because guys should definitely come to the event dressed to impress.  The lovely wedding photographer and Get Hitched Give Hope Socialite Barbie Hull came to our home this week and captured some shots as we played dress up getting ready for the big night on the town next Thursday.  To read the article and see the rest of the photos, check out the link HERE.

Of course anyone who is familiar with our dog Buster understands he thinks he is the supermodel of Chihuahua’s, and would not stand for not being included in the shots.  This is his, “Does this collar make me look fat?” face.  He wanted me to remind everyone that they can see more pictures of him on our blog from a previous post HERE.

Meet the Bailors – Same Day Video Edit

October 22, 2009

Over the past year we have had the pleasure of working with a dynamic couple, Angela & Jonathan Bailor, and an amazing group of vendors for a reality project for NW Bride TV called Meet the Bailors.  We did a previous posting about the reality show which follows us through the wedding planning process with the couple here.  Their wedding took place at the iconic Sorrento Hotel less than two weeks ago, and it was an absolutely incredible event.

Jeremy with Endless Love Productions captured the day on video and surprised the couple with a same-day-edit that was shown at the reception and you can check it out for yourself HERE.

This was our second time featuring a same-day-edit at a reception and it is a truly magical experience for the couple and the guests of an event.  Jen & Jody Photography shot throughout the day and took the stunning pictures above and below.

Check back for more photos from their big day, as well as information regarding the Meet the Bailors series which is set to premiere in January.

We want to thank all of the vendors who helped make their day possible, including the Sorrento Hotel, Endless Love Productions, Rented Elegance and Design, Jen and Jody Photography, Austin Beaver, British Motor Coach, Jen’s Desserts, Zerene Salon, Choice Linens and Chair Covers, Ponti Seafood Grill, izzy girl, CameraRenter and Marrylicious.

True Colors Events Designs a Winter Wedding Table for Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom Magazine

August 6, 2009

In the issue of Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom Magazine on stands now, there is a feature showcasing designers creating table top designs for each of the four seasons.  We had the pleasure of interpreting a winter tablescape, and we couldn’t have had more fun doing it!  Of course we love to think outside the box and challenge ourselves, so we wanted to think beyond winter whites and blues, or holiday reds.

We came across the most divine sequin amethyst overlay and pale pink chair slips covered with paillettes (think Anne Hathaway’s Oscar gown) from premiere linen company Mosaic and we were beyond inspired.  We paired these pale tones normally associated with springtime with grays and black to bring weight to the table.  We worked with Christiane of Flora Nova Design to create beautiful and structural centerpieces that included hydrangea, roses, calla lilies, dusty millers, roses, snowberries, and mums.  We set the table for dessert with beautiful black chargers, champagne flutes, and coffee cups & saucers from Totally Tabletops.  In addition, we had custom cake plates made in a pale lavender-gray by Clara French Ceramiques, which make for a beautiful one-of-a-kind favor that your guests with talk about and cherish for years to come.  Jen of Jen’s Desserts baked individual cakes for each of the place settings with an ornate beaded design, each one just a little bit different.  Sheryl with Paper Moxie designed the incredible paper products including a candelabra style table number sign (that could rotate and had a spot that you could put an led light inside of it so the sign would glow and flicker), acrylic framed place cards, and beaded menu cards.  The silver beaded napkin rings and chairs are from our friends at Pedersen’s Rentals.

The scanned pictures don’t do the feature justice, so make sure to check it out on the news stands!

B&E Color Trends 2009

Banquet & Event is an incredible wedding planning resource.  Not only does it have a great online presence, but they also produce an annual book that is available at various retailers.  In the Savvy Wedding Style section of their website, they recently did a showcase on hot color trends for weddings in 2009.  One of their hot color trends is chartreuse & royal blue, and they featured photos from two of our events!  Included is a shot from the Seattle Wedding Show in 2008 (click here for additional pictures) and another is from Banquet & Event’s Fall Bridal Spectacular in 2007 (click here for additional pictures).  Thanks for including us B&E!

We were so excited when the Editor-in-Chief of Seattle Bride Magazine contacted us about contributing to the Unveiled section of their magazine for the Fall/Winter 2009 issue.  We were asked to create a look for a wedding using a fresh fall color palette.  Always up for a challenge, we decided to pair yellow, orange, gold & bronze together in unconventional ways.  The results with this sunny and sophistocated palette definitely make us smile.  The use of closely grouped polka dots add a touch of whimsy, cohesion, and structure to the look.  Of course none of this would have been possible without the assistance of the wonderful vendors we partnered with to make this vision come to life.  Janet of izzy girl created the custom invitations, escort cards, and table card that really set the tone for the look.  The beautiful bouquet of roses, orchids, calla lilies, and protea was created by the wonderful floral team over at Rented Elegance.  Ashley with Luly Yang helped us pick out the perfect attire items (including the shoe, choker, ties, and belt photographed) to compliment the look.  Our friends at Pedersen’s Rentals and Totally Tabletops supplied us with the items to outfit the colorful place setting.  Tom Douglas Catering mixed a grapefruit margarita with an orange twist as the delicious signature cocktail.  To top it all of, Judy of Tallant House designed an architectural feat of a cake in spiced blood orange and caramel mousse, blood orange curd and comfit, crispy almond dacquoise and cinnamon genoise.  Make sure to check out the article in the new issue of Seattle Bride Magazine that should be on newsstands now.

We are so excited to announce that in conjunction with Sharlane Chase Photography, we are bringing the celebrated wedding show Urban Unveiled back to Benaroya Hall on the evening of Thursday, October 15th.  It’s hard to believe that this is the 4th show we are producing.  Many of our partners are returning for the event, and we are thrilled about some of the new people who will be joining the scene.  This year watch for additions in the area of catering, which means more sumptuous hors d’oeuvres to sample!  Last years theme was “New Hollywood Glamour,” and the sexy look was a hit.  This time were taking things from the West Coast to the East Coast and going for “South Beach Style.”  Anyone who has come to Urban Unveiled knows that it is more than a wedding show; it is a celebration.  It is a chance to get dressed up in cocktail attire, meet with fabulous wedding vendors, enjoy incredible food prepared by Seattle’s best caterers, sip fine wines, watch an inspiring fashion show by the legendary Luly Yang, and have a chance to win valuable prizes.

Above is the 2 page ad that will make its offical debut when the next issue of Seattle Bride Magazine comes out in July.  The awesome picture was taken by none other than talented Urban Unveiled partner John & Joseph Photography.  Make sure to check back for more exciting updates about the show; you can also become fans of Urban Unveiled on Facebook.

Bridal Open House at Palisades this Sunday

February 23, 2009

palisades

On 3/1/09 Palisades will be having a Bridal Open House from 1 pm to 4 pm.  This is a great opportunity to check out the venue that was voted the best place to have your rehearsal dinner by Seattle Bride Magazine.  While we have had many amazing rehearsal dinners at Palisades, their Alani Room is also a great space where you can have a seated wedding reception for 150 guests or a cocktail style reception for up to 200 people.  Palisades offers a unique view of Seattle & Puget Sound and a tropically inspired to-die-for menu not easily found in the Pacific Northwest.  The bridal open house will be decorated by the talented team at Aria Style, feature plenty of food & beverages from the Palisades kitchen, and showcase some of their favorite vendors…including us!  Space is limited to the first 300 guests, so contact Erin Mitchell, Catering Director, at 206.285.5865 to reserve your spot.
